What is a 5 Year Indian Visa?
If you are a national of India and want to visit the United States for any reason within the next five years, you will need a “B-1/B-2 visitor visa.” A B-1/B-2 visa is a short term visa that allows visitors to enter the United States for business or tourism purposes. To obtain this type of visa, you will need to submit an application on your own behalf and provide documentation that shows why you need to travel to the United States and how long you plan to stay. You must also pay a fee at the time of application. If you are traveling for business or pleasure, but your trip is not related to your job or studies, you may be able to apply for an “E-1 visitor visa.” E-1 visas are issued only to individuals who have extraordinary ability in arts, sciences, education, business or athletics. - You must apply in person at the Indian embassy or consulate nearest to your residence.
- You must provide proof of your identity, age, and residency in India. This can include a government-issued ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
- The application fee for a new Indian visa is USD 100.00 (100 rupees).
- The processing time for a new Indian visa can range from several weeks to several months.
Emergency Indian Visa Process
